Blizzard Image Day 4

Today's image reveals a few more interesting things, firstly, there's another rune. Then, there is what appears to be a pair of eyes staring out of the center of the break in the ice. Then of course, there's the strange purple beast, which reveals a tail and foot, looking more like a penguin now?!
The letter associated with the number of the fourth item is P, so we now have the letters D O W P. The name of the latest image is "cold", so the names of all of them are now Cold, Tundra, Cavern and Icy. As for the numbers, the theory that they corresponded to the English alphabet is dead, but it now appears that they are an homage to the six mystical numbers that recur in the TV show "Lost." The six "Lost" numbers are: 4 8 15 16 23 42, and so far the secret images have hit 4, 15, 16, and 23.

I read somewhere that if you superimpose all the previous icy images on top of each other and you set the translucency to 27%, you see a image of Diablo...
...I highly doubt that though. Anyone willing to test that theory?

has anyone actaully thought of the fact that Cold, Tundra, Cavern, Icy could be added togther to form a connundrum?

I think it's getting a bit far fetched now, I doubt we're meant to solve this... Maybe it doesn't mean anything all? It's just there to keep us occupied.

playing with color levels and get something makes me think about
2 eyes, 2 horns on top of it, like diablo's face, maybe my mind mess me up
I also tried to superimpose the images since yesterday, but I don't know if it's only for me but the 4 images do not have the same size, so Y tried to superimpose on the blizzard logo, and that don't make a clearely result.

The TYR_EL I_ LO__ rumour is unfortunately bogus. They were using 'Glacier' for the word of the day on Tuesday, but the correct word is 'Cavern'.

Don't know if anyone else noticed this but the eyes in the image look pretty much identical to the eyes on the cover of the Diablo 2 box cover.

There is an obvious figure in the superimposed picture. The right arm (left side) is reaching towards the surface hands spread. The legs are clearly visible at the bottom. It's left armor is held down to its side, possibly clenched in a fist. What doesn't match up is where the head and the eyes meet. Perhaps it's a close up of a face that will only become clear when the picture is clear....or maybe the "eyes" are just snowflakes. If you look even closer where the head is at you can almost see spikey protrusions coming from it. Maybe I'm imagining it, but that's what I see.

you'll notice that the fourth symbol looks like a planet with orbiting moons. Each other rune has a small symbol next to it that may indicate its position on the fourth symbol. Starcraft is the innermost moon, Diablo is the middle moon and Warcraft is the outer moon. Maybe it's a metaphor. What if it's supposed to represent a nucleus with orbiting electrons?

Here's a thought - take a letter from each purple penguin picture name - D from tundra, I from icy, A from cavern, B (blizzard?), L from cold, and O (frost?); and yes, it spells DIABLO. Ties in with the Dashow guy who worked on the game and the pen as his symbol? Well, there ya go.

OK... Here goes. I'm probably reaching here... but hear me out. I was just messing around at work and reading up on Blizzard and I came across something that started me thinking.

one of my friends pointed out that the eyes look very similar to the protoss image on the starcraft2 main site. and the new rune doesn't really make sense to me, thought maybe it could be like a solar system?

SnickerSnack: I had noticed the little signs next to the runes but couldnt figure out what they were for. I think your interpretation is the only one that make sense so far in this thread.
The 3 "planets" could mean the 3 ongoing projects, StarCraft2, WotLK, Diablo 3. Why would StarCraft be the closest to the center and not on the same axe as the other 2, I dont know. WotLK will be released before SC2 so it's not a closest to be released thing.

The image is an example of "modal priming". Reading the word “airplane” is seeing the object “airplane”. In other words the image is what we want it to be. It's like the post EzkiMo placed on here said. It is getting a bit far fetched now, this image is to keep us occupied. Like many others I am hoping that it's the symbol for Diablo III, I really am, but I believe the image is that of the Lich King. We will soon see though.

Thanks for the correction Glaurung, and I like the Pluton theory really... I guess we'll see the next image in a few hours though the superimposed D2 box art is a nice fit. Can't go with the electron theory though... Fingers crossed!

Using the image numbers as separate digits, and applying them to their corresponding css class names to get the letters, using 0 as (learn to crop images anonymous) you can get 2 letters per day.
Tundra - 04: T, R
Glacier - 15: L, E
Icy - 23: Y, I
Cold - 16: O, L
Knowing that there will be 4 more letters, you can create TYR_EL I_ LO_ _ With the Valenzetti Equation from Lost being 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 which so far fits the numbers we have, the final result can probably be guessed to be TYRAEL IS LOST.
So then, 08 will be Artic, giving us A from 0, and T from 8. Leaving us with 42 something like _ _ S _ S
