Wow man, that's groovy.
Dang, most I've gotten was like...maybe 14.
I'd like to see a video on this one.
I cant even skip stones...
Gah! How can it keep it up that long?! I'm more confused now than before.
(Thanks for link though!)
Wait, he tried 40 stones and only got ONE to skip? Seems like someone that is going for the record would be a bit better than that.
*Goes off to work on his stone skipping skills*
He means he threw forty attempts, but his first skip was the best. "Skip" is being used in that sentence as slang for attempt or throw.
"I actually threw 40 stones that day, but that was the first skip that I threw"
So you are saying that means, "I threw 40 stones that day, but that was the first one I threw"?
He actually meant "I am totally without sin, so not only did I throw the first stone, I threw 39 more."
Haha, thread won!
He said Jehovah! Get hi... ARGHH!!!
My record is right under 20. He blew that right outta the water.
Since i throw like a little girl, i've never been close to 50. Not even 20. Or 10. Or.. You get the picture.
That video was amazing, btw.
I took it as to mean the following:
He threw 40 stones that day.
The record breaking one was the 1st one that was a successful skip.
What he didn't say:
He did not say out of the 40 which attempt this was.
Out of the 40 how many of them were sinkers and how many skipped.
Since he didn't say, I threw 40 stones that day, but this was the only skip I threw, I would be willing to bet that he had other successful skips but they weren't as impressive as this one.
Geez, the most I've ever gotten was about 15.
That was pretty damn impressive.
As for how it keeps going, I imagine very calm water and perfect angle are key.
That's what she said!!! oooohhhhh yea, gigidy gigidy goo!!
I've mainly skipped rocks in the ocean so getting even 5 was good. Most of the time you'd only get 2 before the next wave got it. So to make it more fun we skipped rocks the size of platters.
The video clip has been shown regularly on BBC News, SKY News and Channel 4 news all day, I'm really starting to become desensitised.
